That ass ain't gonna run itself off...

That ass ain't gonna run itself off!  LOVE this!  I think this is perfect for a Monday, don't you?  - especially this Monday.  I'll give you two guesses what my workout consists of today?  Yep...running!!  It's okay - we all know I need to run more and I should be able to get today's workout in since Addy will only be here for just a little bit this morning.  I'm taking her to her other grandmother's today after her morning feeding.  It's her great-grandfather's birthday today and they are going to visit with him.  This little girl is so blessed to have so many people in her life!!

Well, I got all of the important/necessary things upstairs in my office last week and was able to do payroll and billing on Friday like normal.  I think I'm going to move my treadmill and bike - just turn them in a different direction.  I'm trying to make as much open floor space as possible for floor exercises - push-ups, sit-ups, burpees - you know...the "fun" stuff!  lol  That won't take any time at all to move around though.  I still have a few office things to move upstairs, but nothing that I have to have right away so I can bring a little bit of it up at a time.

Today's workout is from HIIT Mamas:
   6 rounds for time
      Run 400 meters
      25 Push-ups/Sit-ups*
      *alternate each round

The Brand X website has this for today's workout as well, but they are doing pull-ups instead of the other.  I'd rather do the other!  lol - The modified "puppy" version is 4 rounds  and 10-12 pull-ups.  The "pack" version is also 4 rounds, but 15-20 pull-ups.  I haven't decided if I'm going to do the modified 4 rounds or go for 6.  Regardless of which distance I decide to do, I am NOT changing the number of reps for the push-ups/sit-ups, but I am going to do double the "rounds" and split the distance in half (200 meters), so I can run the entire thing without having to walk.  It will look like this:
12 (or 8 rounds) for time
      Run 200 meters
      13/12 push-ups/sit-ups

Y'all wish me luck!  Really....wish me luck - my treadmill and I haven't been buddy/buddy lately.  I'm hoping it's not going to take my being neglectful too harshly on me!  lol
*************************
Well...it's like I thought it would be...my treadmill HATES me!  lol  That was brutal, but I did it!!  I did the modified version as follows:
   8 rounds for time:
      #1 - run 200 meters
           - 13 push-ups
      #2 - run 200  meters
           - 13 sit-ups
      #3 - run 200 meters
           - 12 push-ups
      #4 - run 200 meters
           - 12 sit-ups
      #5 - run 200 meters
           - 13 push-ups
      #6 - run 200 meters
           - 13 sit-ups
      #7 - run 200 meters
           - 12 push-ups
      #8 - run 200 meters
           - 12 sit-ups
   Recumbent bike 1/2 mile
Total treadmill time:  14:23/1 mile
Total bike time:  2:01
Total workout time:  33:16

I am SO sweaty and out of breath!  I really hate workouts where you run, then get down in the floor for sit-ups.  I tend to just lay in the floor before actually starting the sit-ups and that just kills my time!  Oh well...it is what it is.  Great workout!

T-Rex hates push-ups!

T-Rex hates push-ups!  Don't 'cha just love these t-rex pictures?  I don't know about you, but the make me smile and we all know I love, love, love to smile!!  I don't see how some people can be miserable all of the time.  I really don't.  I'm just not geared to be a Debbie-Downer or Negative-Nancy - never have been.  I always try to see the positive and mostly the funny side of things.  Yes, I laugh at others, but I laugh at myself WAY more!  :)  Life is great...you gotta enjoy it!!

My workout yesterday consisted of multiple trips up and down the stairs and I plan to do more today.  But, if I get my office in order today (fingers crossed), I plan to do HIIT Mamas workout for today:
   21-18-15-12-9-6-3
      Walking lunges
      Thrusters, 20 lbs
      Push-ups
      Knees to elbows

Sounds like fun, huh?  You know what that means...torture!!  lol  Wish me luck!!

If I ever had to run for my life, I would probably die.

If I ever had to run for my life, I would probably die.  While I find this extremely funny, I also wonder if this would be true for me - especially as much as I hate to run!  lol - but not really!  :)  I would hope adrenaline would kick in and I'd do whatever was necessary to survive, but still....makes you wonder.

So, you know how I mentioned how sore my butt was yesterday?  Well, it's even worse today!!  Yep...those stairs and hills got to it.  The bad (or good) thing is I'll be doing the stairs again today since I have to move more office stuff.  You guys are all probably thinking, it's just from the basement to upstairs, right?  Well...yes and no.  My house is a split level with a full basement.  Looking at it from the back, I have four levels.  Coming up from the basement, I go up one flight of stairs, turn and go up another flight of stairs to get to the next level, which has Hayley's room, the laundry room, and the garage.  Then, I go up the wheelchair ramp which covers 4-step stairs to the living room, dining room, and kitchen level.  Then I have to go up another flight of stairs to get to the upper level which is where our bedroom, Addy's room, and the exercise rooms are located.  Trust me, it's NOT fun when carrying things - especially somewhat heavy things!  I'm curious to know how you would do this, because Honey-Buns and I are totally opposite on what we do.   He carries whatever all the way - from the basement to the top, then goes down and does it again.  I carry whatever to the turn of the basement steps and stack as much of it ups as I can without it falling.  Then, I go from that stack to the next level - stacking it all on the wheelchair ramp.  I proceed to go from there to the bottom of the upper stairs, then carry it to the top of the stairs, then I take it all into the appropriate room.  I know it's the same amount of steps, but it just seems easier my way.  Plus, I feel like I'm accomplishing more because I see so much on each level at one time instead of having to wait until I make it all the up to see my progress.  Crazy, huh?  Gotta love my brain!!

IF I get a chance to work out today, I'm going to do the CrossFit White Head workout.  It's something different for me and kinda looks fun...well, except for the running part but I can run 200 meters fairly easy now (fingers crossed!)  ;)
   12-9-6-3 Curtis P
run 200 meters after each set
*Curtis P is a clean, then you lunge with your right leg, then left leg.  I'm assuming you do the total number and not 12 right leg, 12 left leg - just 12 total.  That's how I'm going to do it, anyway.  Y'all wish me luck!

No "official" workout - moving office stuff has been sufficient for me today!  :)

I'm tired, sore and don't want to go to the gym...

I'm tired, sore and don't want to go to the gym, which is exactly why I'm going to go in and dominate.  :)

I'm not tired, but I am sore - yeah, you guessed it...my butt is sore!!  What is it with that thing?  lol  Anyway, I still feel pretty excited about knocking more than a minute off of my time for the 2-mile run yesterday.  I have to say, I'm very surprised - but at the same token, I really pushed myself.  I started off running 2 minutes, then walking 1 minute.  I did that several times before switching over to 1.5 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking.  Occasionally (once or twice) I walked for 1.5 minutes just to catch my breath, but tried to make up that extra half-minute on the next run or two.  Don't ask me if I did or not...I just know I ran and ran and ran some more!  :)  And yes!  I was dripping sweat!  I completely forgot to take my measurements yesterday, but will do it today and get them posted.  I did update my stats with my weight and added my Army test results to them as well.  Keep a look out for the updates!

My plan today is to take Addy for a walk through the neighborhood, but if that doesn't work out then I'm going to do HIIT Mamas' workout from 9/26/13, which was a "compare to" that I wanted to do last week, but never did.  Just a reminder:
   50 jump rope (jacks)
        push-ups
        jump rope (jacks)
        sit-ups
        jump rope (jacks)
        squats
        jump rope (jacks)
        back extensions

I put up jacks because when I went back to see what my original time was, I had apparently substituted jumping jacks.  I don't think I had a jump rope at that time, lol!!  Anyway, I'm going to do jumping jacks just like I originally did for a time of 25:00 even.  Wish me luck!
*************************
So...different kind of work out today.  First, Addy and I walked through the neighborhood for 35 minutes - up hills and down!  I bought a carrier the other day and this was the first time we used it - she really liked it, so I know it won't be the last time!  Also, we decided to move our office up from the basement all the way to the top floor in my exercise room so I've been super busy today emptying, boxing, and carrying up filing cabinets, etc.  I can't move the desk up all of the stairways by myself, so Honey-Buns is going to have some of our guys come move it for me tomorrow.  I love having a solid wood desk until it's time to move it!  lol  - So...that's been my day.  Not a "prescribed" workout, but still walking and going up and down lots of stairs...hey, it counts!!

Army Fitness Test #2

The only thing between you and your goal is you.  Truth!!  :)

What a crazy, busy, exhausting couple of weeks it has been!  All I could think about last week while keeping Addy was...if she makes me this tired now when she just lays around and sleeps a lot, what will it be like when she's moving and crawling around?  OMG - let's hope I survive!!  lol  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  She is the most precious little girl!

Today is my second Army Fitness test, so I'm hoping I see some improvement.  It's going to be interesting to see though, considering I haven't worked out as often as I was doing before.  Oh well, what is it I like to say?  It is what it is.  :)

Here are the results of my Army Fitness tests so far:

2-mile run goal - 24:00 to pass (minimum score of 60%)
   7/15/13 - 34:07
   8/30/13 - 33:27

2-minutes of push-ups - 10 Army count (20 regular count) to pass (minimum score of 60%)
   7/15/13 - 1 Army count (2 regular count)
   8/30/13 - 4 Army count (8 regular count)

2-minutes of sit-ups - 30 Army count (60 regular count) to pass (minimum score of 60%)
   7/15/13 - 16 Army count (32 regular count)
   8/30/13 - 22 Army count (44 regular count)

Just a reminder - the posted goal/pass numbers are specific for my age/gender - females, aged 47-51.

Very happy girl!  I have two new PR's!!  Woot-woot!!

2 mile run:  32:19 - I knocked off 1:08 from my previous time of 33:27, and 1:38 from my original time of 34:07!!  :)  Happy, happy, happy!!

Push-ups:  5 Army count, 10 regular count - increased by 1 Army count, 2 regular count!!  :)

Sit-ups:  44 - no increase/decrease here since the last time I tested...a little disappointed in that!

Overall, I'm extremely pleased considering I haven't worked out consistently lately.  :)  Great workout!!

I become a happier person the more I work out!

I become a happier person the more I work out!  This is true.  I can be in the worst mood (and have been!) or super tired (that too!!), then go work out ANYWAY and I usually feel better!  Crazy, huh?  :)

Well, I did not do the HIIT Mamas workout yesterday, but I did go for a walk with Addy yesterday morning.  I didn't have a carrier, so I just carried her in my arms like she was sitting in one.  She really loves the outdoors, especially trees.  I think it's the whole contrast thing.  Anyway, I went and bought a carrier yesterday afternoon, so I'm hoping we get to try it out today.  I finally figured out why I haven't been able to fit in my afternoon workout...normally I go upstairs between 3:00 and 4:00, and Honey-Buns usually leaves and goes to our truck yard to check on things.  Well, someone has to stay with Addy and she's been sleeping (or fussing, ready for sleep) at that time.  Since Honey-Buns isn't here, that's been me!!  I'm sure it won't be long before she's awake at that time and I can take her bouncy or swing upstairs and she can watch Grammie work out!!  I just won't be able to have my music super loud - bummer...oh the sacrifices we make!  :)  I will say that I cannot believe how sore I have been from walking the neighborhood with her.  It's always my butt area, and I know it's from the hills in our neighborhood, but still - I know my legs have been working!!  My shoulders are still sore from the 50 lb push-presses the other day, too.  My crazy body!

If I get to workout today, I plan to do the one from yesterday.  Just a reminder...
   50 -
      jump rope
      push-ups
      jump rope
      sit-ups
      jump rope
      squats
      jump rope
      back extensions

Fingers crossed!!

Just looked at this from 12/28/12 and we did jumping jacks instead of jump rope, so that's what I'm going to do so I can get a real "compare to" time!  :)

Jump rope fail

Jump rope fail!  I haven't fallen down like this, but I do trip...a LOT! lol

I'm glad to report that I am not really sore this morning, more like achy on my left shoulder - I think it's called the deltoid muscle.  It's the area between my shoulder and neck, but it's only sore on the left side...or as I like to call it, my weak side!  I cannot believe how much weaker that arm is from my right arm!  Crazy!!  I guess I can really tell because I used dumbbells instead of barbells.  Wow - an eye opener!!

I'm doing HIIT Mamas today - it's a "compare to" workout.  :)
   50 jump-rope
   50 push-ups
   50 jump-rope
   50 sit-ups
   50 jump-rope
   50 squats
   50 jump-rope
   50 back extensions

Looks tough, huh?  I did this in 25:00 on 12/28/12, so I'm hoping to improve on that - definitely not be worse!  lol  Wish me luck!!
